Our
tenant moved out of the basement apartment in April. He lived here for 7 1/2 years, so it had been some time since it was painted and cleaned.
There were some overwhelming, and somber moments, when we had a look around. All the work invested into our home, only to have "moth and rust doth corrupt." (Matt. 6:19)
Stickers. Everywhere. On doors, cabinets, refrigerator,
paneling, EVERYWHERE.
7 1/2 years of cobwebs & thermal tracking stains...
Our favorite was the bottle stickers on the bathroom
paneling as a border. With
Shawn's work being so slow in this economy, we were
overwhelmed with the amount of money and work that was needed to rent this place again... and quickly.
But God is so good! He sent us some angels - 3 of them! Many hands make light the work! I still get tears of gratitude when I think of their sacrifice.
Debi spent several hours with me one morning scrubbing all the walls. Then the three of them, Dena, Lisa, and Debi, spent over 5 hours of their evening helping with the painting and cleaning.
Lisa made that bathroom sparkle! She got every last bottle label off that
paneling!
Dena painting away! Painting... Painting... and MORE Painting!
Debi, Debi, how can I ever repay you! Thank you so very much for EVERYTHING you did. I will NEVER forget ALL your help! YOU kept me sane and FOCUSED on the LORD!! AND HE BLESSED!
The apartment looks NEW, and CLEAN, and NICE once again!
How do you thank God for friends like these? It would have taken Shawn and I weeks to
accomplish all that we did in ONE with all the help and LOVE they freely gave us!
