No Cook'n in the Kitchen...

I won the Home Helpers / Baltimoresun.com contest for September. The prize was a $250 gift card for home depot! We decided to paint the kitchen and change the lighting.

Most housewives would be a little FREAKED OUT over this...
I have quite a bit of experience with this...you just focus (with some projects focusing is harder than other projects, but FOCUS) on the end results...and you won't see a bit of dirt! O yeah, and PRAY really, really hard that its only going to be a weekend project - not a years project!
My handsome handyman posing for this pic. Isn't he adorable?!?
Like I said...FOCUS!!!! Do you see it yet??? Isn't it beautiful!?!?
This is John, an "associate" (NOT "helper") of Shawn's. He gave us a hand with running some electric for the recessed lighting. John recently accepted Jesus as his personal Savior! We're rejoicing along with the angels! What a MIGHTY GOD we serve!!!!

SAYING GOODBYE

What a great, but busy summer! It's hardest to say goodbye to the boating season. We went out for one last trip in hopes to catch a fish or two. We saw plenty, but caught none! (Still a little confused over this!) We kept wishing Jesus would appear and command that we cast our nets one more time!
Had to do a little canvas cleaning...but it's all fun!
We spent the night at Castle Harbor, a jewel of a marina on Kent Island that's very close to the shore house. Yes, we're starting to get "docking" down, not as many people laughed at us this time!
Great family time, beautiful sunset!

Ladies Bible Study

Debi and I hosted this months Ladies Meeting. We were showered with blessings as we thought about keeping our eyes on eternity, and pointing our hearts toward heaven.
Great lesson, and good food too!
Many visitors came out.
Good conversation.
The ladies were blessed with great babysitters!
Mrs. Counterman lead the evening, but Jessica gave the lesson.

Happy Anniversary!

On Thursday, October 11, Shawn and I celebrated 16 years together!
To God be the Glory!

Around the World Adventure!!!

Our church had their Missions Conference this past week. In Truth Trackers, the children had a special night, where they dressed up like a child from a different country. They had a guest speaker who did a "Chalk Talk."
Dylan dressed as a Mexican child.
The children enjoyed hearing about the differences between American churches and churches around the world.

Walt Disney World 2007

Some pictures of our Disney trip...(if a bit late!)
The fireworks at Magic Kingdom are a show in itself...
"Wishes," is a truly magical experience!
We had FREE Disney dining during our stay. At Chef Mickey's we were able to "rub elbows" with the mouse himself!
Will the true "Goofy" please step forward!
Unfortunately, Shawn said a forbidden word and was arrested at Whispering Canyon Cafe. The forbidden word? Pepsi!?!? And FYI, if you ever find yourself there, don't ask for the ketsup!
Ashley's favorite Disney ride...the Tower of Terror! You ride on an elevator, that takes you up 13 stories, only to drop you over & over & over again. Evil thing it is.
Our incredible family getting a picture with Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl!
Shawn having a problem with the Lego store. Do you see the horns growing our of his head!?!?
No, baby, no more!
Ashley had her face painted (a butterfly)...still my little girl!
Dylan did it too - makes me thing of wrestling for some reason!
After the face painting, we went to see the La Nouba, Cirque Du Soleil. This was the best show any of us has ever seen.
We opened Animal Kingdom park and ran to the new Everest ride. We were the third train of the day, and were congratulated with one of the "million dreams," a day of fast passes!
The baby giraffe was the highlight of the Safari ride.
We enjoyed one day at Epcot.
The new show "Finding Nemo" had amazing puppetry. (See the people working the puppets?)
Shawn playing on an invention of the future.
Shouldn't you need a license to drive one of these things?
We found our first HIDDEN MICKEY! See him in the rocks of the aquarium?

OBX

We gathered with friends and family in Outer Banks the first week in September. Included were the Shawn Hunt family, the Lee family, the Smith family, the Huster family and the Jack Hunt family. We rented a 7 bedroom, 5 1/2 bath ocean front home in Corolla, and we all had a BLAST! Our beautiful home, with sunrises each morning worth waking up to!

Shawn's parents caught enjoying the morning sunrise.
"The Heavens declare the glory of God...
...and the firmament shows his handiwork." (Psalm 19:1)
We all enjoyed our time playing games like Guesstures, Mexican Train, and Rook.
One morning we went up to Carova, to the off road section of the OBX. We went 4 wheeling along the ocean's edge for miles, then took a trip into the sand dunes.
Within the dunes, lived hundreds of wild horses. We rode along several paths and paused to watch many horses. Definitely on of our favorite memories!
The Corolla Light house.
The entire gang taking their "Hogs" out for a cruise!

We visited the Wright's museum, "First in Flight!"
It was off the dunes of OBX that man flew the first airplane.
We collected sand crabs one night, and poured the liquid from glow sticks on them, before releasing them back on the beach.
Shawn putting another kite together.
Boogie Boarding or Surfing??? Leave it to Dylan to mix them both!
Kim's Mom and Dad enjoying the beach.
Shawn's Mom, out of her element, but still enjoying the beach.
Shawn building one of 4 sand castles. This one was engraved in honor of our families. However, "someone," (maybe a bit jealous, of such artwork) decided to BLOW UP this castle....

...with their SAND CANNON pointed right at it, complete with CANNON BALLS!
We spent one night presenting our "Charlie Brown" Talent/Variety Show! It included great performances, such as "Beauty Shop Makeover" skit by Noelle and Ashley...
"Man of Constant Sorrows," song performed by Jeremy, Everette & Jared;
"7 Days of Vacation," song by the Smith Family;
"Gone with the Wind" soliloquy by Melanie Lee;
and "Girly Sue's Mini Skit," by Ashley and Shawn....
...who won 1st place - $50!
Our last night was spent walking the sand dunes at the park.
The sand just goes on, and on, and on...
We enjoyed great view of the ocean and sound sides.
A little fool'n around with beach photography.
Such HAMS!
I'm thinking "beauties and the beast"!

Ephesians 3:14-19

"For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height - to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, for ever and ever. Amen."
